Methodology: Establishment, employment and annual payroll counts for the five NAICS classes this hub's processes are counted in, read from the Census Bureau's keyless County Business Patterns state file for 2022. No NAICS class means 'injection moulding shop', so every class is labelled with its Census name and never with a process name: 326199 is All Other Plastics Product Manufacturing, the class injection moulders share with other plastics converters. Machine Shops (332710) and Sheet Metal Work Manufacturing (332322) publish for all 50 states; Special Die and Tool (333514) and Metal Stamping (332119) are suppressed in smaller states and their absence is recorded rather than filled. Payroll is Census annual payroll in thousands of dollars. This index counts CAPACITY, not vendors we have any relationship with.
